Lifescapes

Sociables

Paying a visit to my grandmother this weekend helped me recoup and return with renewed vigour. There is something about these beautiful hills, the smell of wet sand and the rain drops on your face that is so refreshing. It ‘wakes up’ those weary muscles and gives you a renewed sense of life. You feel so light… and happy!

Up in the hills, life can be absolutely charming. It is a reality check almost, where our lives in front of our computer screens seem so pointless and meaningless. The beauty of sowing seeds, waiting for them to sprout, watching them grow, blossom and bear beautiful fruit, saying it is therapy in itself.

A Chrysanthemum!

This is the life up there, a life we all long for and are envious of!

Walking out into the gardens as the rains ceased, camera in hand and taking a deep breath, sent a shiver down my spine. My grandmom’s collection of flowers is ever increasing, what with yellows and whites and reds of the most awesome flowers.

It was almost as if they were dancing in the wind for me. The wet grass under my bare feet and the fresh cold breeze running through my hair, made me want to capture that moment in time and freeze it eternally!

It was just two days up in the hills with some hot steaming coffee and torrential rains, but they were the most wonderful two days of my life. This was enough time to rejuvenate my senses and fill me up with renewed energy for the gruesome city life.

The ride back to Bangalore was torturous. My heart and soul were clinging to those quiet, beautiful moments like watching the rain or feeling the cold breeze. I wanted to stay there and never get back.

Like me, if you are on the look-out for that quiet weekend getaway to heal your senses, Coorg is the answer!
